Rows AI is an AI layer built directly into Rows (a modern spreadsheet platform) that helps you analyze, transform, and explain data using plain-language prompts. Instead of manually writing complex formulas, building pivot tables, or cleaning messy datasets by hand, you can ask Rows AI to do common spreadsheet work for you—like creating formula columns, summarizing tables, joining datasets, finding outliers, and formatting results.
Rows AI is designed for people who live in spreadsheets but don’t want every task to require advanced spreadsheet skills. It also supports “see-and-extract” workflows (turning PDFs and images into usable tables), and includes AI features that can classify or extract information from text. In practice, it acts like a “data teammate” inside your sheet: you describe what you want, and it proposes outputs you can apply to your spreadsheet.
Simple How-to-Use
- Create or open a spreadsheet in Rows.
- Use the AI Analyst chat: Click the ✨ bubble button (typically in the bottom-right) and describe what you want (e.g., “summarize this table,” “find duplicates,” “join these two tables”).
- Use AI directly inside a cell (AI Cell): Click a cell and type
=. If Rows can’t match a normal function and the cell is empty, you’ll see an option like “Solve with AI”—then type your request in plain language. - Use AI functions for repeatable tasks: Enter formulas such as
=AI("your prompt")or other AI-focused functions for summarizing, classifying, rewriting, or translating text across rows. - Import data from documents (Rows Vision): Drag-and-drop a PDF or image into a spreadsheet (or import from the dashboard) to convert it into an editable table you can analyze.
