Google Earth Studio Brief overview
Google Earth Studio is a web-based animation tool that lets you create video-style camera moves (flyovers, zooms, orbits) using Google Earth’s satellite and 3D imagery. Google+1 It’s designed for producing stills or animated sequences for storytelling—such as documentaries, research explainers, education content, and newsroom visuals—without needing advanced 3D software. Earth Studio runs in the desktop version of Google Chrome and is offered as a preview release where access is granted on a case-by-case basis after you request it with a Google account.
How to use
- Request access + open in Chrome: Sign in with your Google account on the Earth Studio site and request access; use desktop Chrome.
- Start with a template: Create a project using Quick Start templates like Zoom-To, Point-to-Point, Orbit, Spiral, or Fly-To and Orbit.

- Optional overlays: Import KML/KMZ from your computer or Google Drive for simple overlays (routes, borders, shapes, placemarks).
- Export: Use Snapshot for a still image, or Render for an animation (exports as an image sequence).
